The exhibition will feature well-known and previously exhibited works, as well as his latest ones, all created in the "staple engraving" technique that was devised by the artist.

On show are – portraits and banknotes – two separate series, which are clearly interconnected. Some banknotes turn into spirited and charming characters – with their own history, personality and emotions, while the images of people, on the contrary, transform into merely strange and beautiful puzzles made out of familiar, yet surprising, objects.

What unites the portraits of Mayakovsky, Yeltsin, Karl Lagerfeld, The Liverpool Four, Kurt Cobain and many other public figures, utterly disparate and in their own way legendary, is the artist's mastery: using primitive building materials, he manages to convey personality with finesse.

The works of Petr Bystrov are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Museum of Moscow, Gazprombank, Dispari & Dispari Project (Berlin – Reggio Emilia), as well as in the private collections of Lyubov Alipova, Mikhail Alshibay, Vadim Dymov, Vladimir Ovcharenko, Timofey Parschikov, Ida Pisani (Milan, Italy), Claudio Poleski (Lucca, Italy), Olga Popova, and Elvira Tarnogradskaya.

Soundtracks from The Beatles repertoire and a recording of their songs played on the Theremin accompany the exposition.
