How the new virtuality boosted alter ego and completely transformed the ethics of behavior and the principles of existence, even romantic relationships. How people create themselves anew in order to be perceived properly, and how they are still creating the new world around them to perceive them.

The exhibition "I'm coming to find you" consists of several series of paintings, united by the theme of a person's self-presentation in social networks. In her works, Nika Chernyaeva explores the process of finding oneself in the space of new virtuality, which in the era of a pandemic has become one of the main means of communication.

The project raises questions about how people want to be seen on the other side of the screen, what opportunities modern digital environment offers us and what challenges we are facing. Creating himself anew in the parallel reality of social networks, a person builds between himself and the world new levels of disguise, as the artist is engaged in fixating and studying them.
Each of the four series included in the exhibition reveals the indicated issue from its own angle. The "Tinderman" project speaks for itself, these are portraits of users of a dating application, where everyone tries to present themselves in the most favorable light in order to increase the chances of success in the search for the significant other.

The "Acai" series also presents a sort of user portraits. It is named after a healthy meal popular on Instagram, very beautiful to look at, but not necessarily delicious. Substituting content with visuality makes sense in the social media world, where visibility often overshadows everything else. The "2020" series includes works based on images from the "Saved" folder on the artist's instagram, as well as two large-scale canvases, sketches for which were digital collages from print screens of stories of people Nika follows on the web.
